Creature of Habit

I’m only in my early 30’s and I’m already a creature of habit.  I have my little routine comfort zone I relish in.  I enjoy my morning coffee shop time to help wake up, drink something hot and energizing.  I get to spend some nice R & R time with my hubby before going off to the salt mines that take up most of my M-F life.  I do laundry on Sundays.  My washer sounds like a spaceship taking off.  I like taking naps on the weekends so I can try and be a night owl for once.  Sometimes I like to enjoy a fun drink at home (entails a splash of flavored vodka with sprite) to relax while I read.

I’m hoping to make a habit of walking around my future playing field once I move to my new digs.  I’m looking forward to a more peaceful neighborhood.  Looking forward to a window seat to dream at while writing………

A habit I must get back into is reading my Bible.  I procrastinate on it so much.  I’ve struggled with having a Bible fetish.  Rather a fetish of buying them…..not being satisfied with the one I own.  Wanting it in leather and gilded pages, wanting it with indented book tabs, wanting a Study Bible, wanting one with no commentary, etc.  It’s ridiculous and I fear I inherited that fetish from my dad who collects Bibles more so than I do.  Of course he’s in ministry so he sort of has an excuse to have so many.  I even struggled with which translation to go with.  That took up a good number of years of my life.  A waste of time to struggle over.  I mean by now I do know there is a difference between all the different translations. Thanks to Joyce Meyer I discovered the Amplified Bible which I find very readable and doesn’t make me want to giggle out loud like the Message.

So I’m hoping to incorporate some new habits that will better my health and spirit.
