Saturday Night Blues
Just when I thought I’d scream from being so dang weepy for no reason, which is completely irritating I started reading Matthew Paul Turner’s Blog: Jesus Needs New PR. I’ve previously read his book called Churched, which is about growing up Baptist. I wasn’t raised Baptist, but the whole going to church, getting baptized and re-committing my life to Christ umpteen times, well I could relate to all of that. So needless to say, when I started checking out Matthew’s blog I couldn’t help, but giggle.
Matthew has these posts of different pictures/paintings/cartoons of Jesus throughout the years, decades, styles, etc. The captions he put underneath had me laughing and laughing. Not that Jesus is humorous, but sometimes I wonder what Jesus thinks of how we picture him as looking. It’s fascinating to see how through the years His style has gone from conservative to hippy-ish looking to sort of gosh I’m not sure. It’s amazing how many different looks Jesus has, but one thing always seems to remain the same: his long hair.
So rather than being sad for no reason I’ve been cheered up by Matthew’s blog. Thank you Matthew! I’ll keep coming back to look for more Jesus Pictures of the week!
